On April 21st and 22nd of 2016, about 40 mayors and councillors from several European countries gathered in Barcelona for the “First pan European meeting of local authorities and new generation of free trade agreements”.

They answered the invitation launched by the Barcelona city council to create a network of progressive local authorities opposing TTIP, CETA and TiSA.

A joint declaration, the “Barcelona Declaration” was produced at the end of this meeting. This text will be signed by the local elected participant in the meeting but also by any other TTIP/CETA-free cities who wish to.
